The side-by-side plates allow you to install two telescopes in parallel on the same mount and they are thus useful for both photographic and visual applications.

By using these side-by-side plates it is also possible to install a DSLR-camera in parallel to the main telescope in order to take a widefield pictures additonally.

Thanks to their particular design, the side by side Vixen plates PLUS can be used:

for photographic applications, where it is necessary to install two telescopes on the same mount
you can install a primary imaging telescope and one for guiding; or a camera (like a DSLR) that takes the pictures through its own lens and
